Desi Susanti, M.Hum. is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of History, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Indonesia. Her research focuses on the discourse of women’s history and gender, specializing in political representation, colonial identity transition, and civil rights advocacy. As a researcher, her scientific contributions have been published in reputable national journals, such as Historiografi, Analisis Sejarah, Agastya, Fajar Historia, and Mukadimah, as well as international platforms Atlantis Press and African Science Frontiers Initiatives (ASFI) Research Journal through transnational comparative studies on women and environmental advocacy. Her academic orientation is rooted in her thesis, which explores the struggle for women’s suffrage during the colonial period as the foundation of political rights in the Dutch East Indies, which crucially influenced the fulfillment of universal women’s rights in Indonesia in the post-independence era. Currently, she is involved in research on women in the colonial identity transition of Dutch East Indies society, and actively contributes to strengthening public history through community empowerment activities.
