Prof. Dr. Dhanang Respati Puguh, M. Hum. Prof. Dr. Dhanang Respati Puguh, M. Hum. is a Professor of Cultural History at the Department of History, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. His particular interest is cultural politics, especially Javanese culture. His doctoral dissertation focused on the strategic efforts of the state and society to preserve and develop the culture of Surakarta, Central Java, from the 1950s to the 1990s. He has led several research projects that primarily focus on the cultural politics of Javanese karawitan. He was assigned as the principal investigator for research projects on the globalization of Javanese performing arts (2019-2021) and Javanese performing arts in Singapore (2022). In 2016, he was assigned as a visiting lecturer at Nagoya University, Japan, where he taught about Javanese performing arts education. In 2017 and 2018, he directed a wayang orang performance to commemorate the anniversary of Diponegoro University, which was performed by professors.
